FAQ

Is Cognibase ready for production?

Cognibase is in production state, since many years, for applications where the client is built as a desktop or console/headless one. So we consider mobile (e.g. MAUI) apps as experimental. Additionally, just recently we made some major changes in the serialization library so we expect few glitches here and there.

Does Cognibase support client-side/browser clients (e.g. Blazor Wasm and Javascript)?

Currently no. Cognibase supports only server-side Web applications. We plan to support Blazor Wasm when .NET 9 is out with multi-threading support. We also plan to support Javascript within browser in the future.

Does Cognibase support other programming languages (e.g. Java, Flutter, Python)?

Currently no. We are investigating how this can be done in an efficient and developer-friendly way.

What does Beta mean?

Although Cognibase is robust enough to be used for some production scenarios (eg, Desktop and headless apps, multi-service backends, etc.), we have decided to have the Beta flag for the following main reasons:

  1. There may be some API changes.
  2. Our plan is to implement an OAuth2.0 Service and have a robust internet-scale story.
  3. The documentation has not reached the appropriate level yet.
